About the role
We have an exciting opportunity for a Base Facilities Maintenance Assistant to join our dynamic growing team.
This entry-level role is ideal for someone looking to build practical skills in facility maintenance, equipment handling, and aviation support. You will be responsible for supporting the day-to-day upkeep and smooth operation of the Broome base by collaborating with Operations, Engineering and Safety teams to ensure a safe, clean and efficient working environment.
Reporting to the Base Facilities Maintenance Supervisor, you will play a pivotal role in maintaining base facilities, supporting daily operations, and contributing to a safe and efficient working environment.
Responsibilities of the role include:
- Assisting with routine inspections and basic maintenance tasks across buildings, equipment and grounds
- Carrying out minor repairs, upgrades or installations under supervision
- Supporting base audits, mobilisations and emergency response activities (e.g. cyclone preparation)
- Maintaining cleanliness and safety of the ramp, hangar and surrounding areas, including FOD control
- Operating base support equipment (e.g. tugs and forklifts) following appropriate training
- Assisting with aircraft movement, towing, washing and cleaning
- Supporting maintenance documentation and record keeping
- Working alongside contractors and vendors while observing safety and quality standards
To be considered for this role, you will need:
- Good communication skills and a willingness to learn
- Basic problem-solving skills and a proactive attitude
- Must hold or be eligible to apply for an ASIC card
- Must hold a valid Australian Driver’s Licence
- No prior experience required - full training will be provided
