About the role
We have an exciting opportunity for a newly created position of a Deputy Program Director to join our dynamic growing team. This role is ideal for a proactive, organised individual seeking to develop their career to the next level in a fast‑paced aviation environment. The role will support our current Program Directors, gaining exposure to all facets of operational service delivery, customer engagement and contract management.
Responsibilities of the role include:
- Maintain an updated copy of the assigned Customer Contract(s) and all associated correspondence which provides guidance on the execution of the contract requirements.
- With the customer, PHI Business Development and the Director of Operations, develop a set of Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to monitor contract performance.
- Schedule meetings on a frequency agreed by the customer to present and review the KPIs.
- Work with other departments within PHI to provide them information as necessary on contract performance.
- Request assistance from the PHI Business Development Group when requests are made by the customer for services which are outside of the contract.
- Under the direction of the Director of Operations, provide support as directed to the Program Directors.
- Liaise daily with the PHI ROC on operational Service Delivery on assigned contract/s.
- Provide support to PHI Business Development Group on new opportunities and ad-hoc opportunities.
- Coordinate with the Maintenance Planner as required to assist in the planning of medium to long-term maintenance in order to assure enough aircraft available to meet contract requirements.
- Coordinate with Technical Director or ensure Maintenance staffing necessary to meet contract and ad-hoc requirements.
- Coordinate with Flight Operations on Pilot staffing necessary to meet contract and ad-hoc requirements.
- Monitor aircraft daily availability and work with assigned Base staff and PHI ROC to ensure daily aircraft are assigned to meet contract. In situations where aircraft or pilot staffing may not be enough, contact the customer promptly to determine an acceptable solution.
- Provide customer with aircraft serviceability status and solutions to unserviceability’s.
- Manage projects initiated to support customer operations, aircraft, personnel, facilities, etc.
- Prepare and facilitate annual audits and other periodic facility audits.
To be considered for this role, you will need:
- A proactive, professional with a strong customer‑facing approach.
- Must hold or be eligible to apply for an ASIC card
- Strong computer literacy to learn PHI systems
- Excellent management skills.
- Customer service delivery skills.
- Above average written and verbal communications skills.
- Good computer skills, especially Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong working knowledge of CASA regulations and PHI’s Operations Manual.
- CASA licence (Pilot or Maintenance) desired but not required
