About the role
Are you a safety driven aviation professional with a focus for operational excellence, honesty, integrity and leadership? PHI is seeking a dynamic and safety-focused individual to join our team as Head of Flying Operations (Chief Pilot) – Australia.
This is a unique leadership role that combines strategic management with operational flying. You’ll help lead flight standards, drive compliance, and influence best practices across our Australian operations, all while maintaining flying currency and staying up to date on all CASA regulations.
Responsibilities of the role include:
- Maintain regulatory compliance within PHI International Australia.
- Hold CASA Part 119 Head of Flying Operations Key personnel position.
- Foster strong working relationships with CASA.
- Manage all flight operations conducted under the Australian AOC.
- Support strategic development of best practices in flight operations.
- Maintenance of the operations suite of manuals.
- Ensuring that crew scheduling complies with fatigue management and flight and duty time regulations, and that crew members are kept informed of changes to regulations and standards.
- Liaise with Head of Training and Checking to ensure mandated training and checking is completed.
- Ensuring occurrence reporting and safety culture continues to improve effective corrective and preventative strategies developed by the company.
- Administer Web Manuals and ensure documentation accuracy.
To be considered for this role, you will need:
- CASA ATPL(H) with Instrument Rating.
- Proven history of aviation management.
- Strong experience in Offshore Pilot Transfer operations.
- Type rating on one or more of the following preferred: H175, AW189, S92.
- Extensive knowledge of CASA regulatory environment.
- Excellent writing skills.
