Supply and Logistics Officer

Supply and Logistics Officer

  • Residential in Broome
  • Mon – Fri role
  • Permanent Full-Time

The Company

PHI is a global leader in helicopter services. In the Asia Pacific (APAC) region, PHI takes on some of the most challenging assignments in aviation to deliver high quality helicopter support for energy customers and search and rescue authorities.

We are one of the safest helicopter operators anywhere in the world, as every flight we take is guided by our core values of Safe, Efficient, Quality, Service.

About the role

If you’re looking for a role where supply chain performance has a direct impact on aviation operations, this is an opportunity to step into a hands-on, operationally connected environment in one of Australia’s most remote and logistically complex locations.

Based in Broome, this role puts you on the frontline of the operation, working closely with engineers and operations to support PHI’s large helicopter fleet. You’ll gain hands-on experience across international freight, inventory control and aviation stores operation, developing skills that go far beyond a typical supply chain role.

At PHI Aviation, you’ll be part of a high-performing and supportive team, with the chance to learn from experienced professionals while building your own capability in a fast-paced, safety-critical environment. Whether you’re early in your career or bring existing logistics experience, this role offers real exposure, responsibility and the opportunity to grow.

In this position, you’ll:

  • Coordinate domestic and international shipments, ensuring critical parts move efficiently through the supply chain
  • Support day-to-day stores operations, including receipting, issuing and handling of parts
  • Work closely with both the Supply and Purchasing Manager and the Broome Base Maintenance team to keep operations running smoothly

You’ll thrive in this role if you enjoy being close to the action, can juggle competing priorities, and take pride in doing things right; because in this environment, attention to detail and reliability make a real difference.

Responsibilities of the role include:

  • Coordinate, prepare and manage all international shipments inbound to and outbound from Australia, ensuring accuracy, timeliness and compliance with applicable regulations.
  • Prepare and verify all required export and import documentation, including commercial invoices, packing lists, airway bills, certificates, and regulatory paperwork.
  • Ensure shipments comply with Australian Border Force, customs, biosecurity, aviation, and international trade requirements.
  • Generate and maintain detailed shipment tracking and reporting for inward and outward goods as directed by management
  • Ensure all inventory movements are accurately recorded in the inventory and maintenance management systems (Ramco / MSP), maintaining data integrity at all times.
  • Conduct Inwards Goods Receipt and Acceptance for aeronautical and non-aviation inventory, including verification against purchase orders, certification, and delivery documentation.
  • Issue parts to the correct Work Orders, tasks and maintenance activities, ensuring traceability and regulatory compliance.
  • Participate in the control, administration and organisation of stores, including stock accuracy, documentation control, and housekeeping standards.
  • Participate in daily planning and coordination meetings with managers to discuss inbound requirements, priorities and operational impacts.
  • Liaise closely with the Supply and Purchasing Manager, maintenance teams, and logistics providers to resolve issues and support operational continuity.
  • Provide logistical support and coordination assistance to the Supply and Logistics Officer Lead (Broome) as required across day-to-day supply activities.
  • Undertake other reasonable duties as directed to support the effective operation of the supply chain function.

To be considered for this role, you will need:

  • Forklift license desirable.
  • Dangerous Goods Acceptance training desirable
  • Demonstrated experience in supply chain, logistics, warehousing or inventory control.
  • Relevant aircraft and product knowledge desirable.
  • Ability to interpret technical data.
  • Experience using RAMCO or a similar inventory management system.

About you:

  • Have a strong focus on prioritisation of tasks, understanding risks, and decision-making skills, with the ability to prioritise tasks to ensure effective sequence tasks.
  • Proactive and self-motivated, with the ability to anticipate needs, take initiative, and take ownership of tasks without requiring direction.
  • A strong work ethic where you are driven to do the best job possible.
  • Demonstrated ability in the utilisation of Standard Operating Procedures and ability to demonstrate understanding of utilising these procedures in a high tempo coordination environment.
  • Maintaining proper focus and discipline while conducting safety sensitive duties.
  • Ability to work within a team environment.

Culture & Benefits

  • Competitive Base Salary, in line with your skills and experience.
  • Commitment to your ongoing development and growth, including on-the-job opportunities, formal programs, coaching and mentoring.
  • Values led culture.
  • Salary sacrifice options including novated leases and superannuation.
  • A work environment where safety is always the number one priority.
